  14. You know, an advantage of MacApp.Tech$ being a mail address rather than a
  15. bulletin board is that you can have your Mac automatically dial up and receive
  16. your mail without your attention.

  18. If AppleLink added one more feature, this would be possible with a bulletin
  19. board as well. The feature (which I previously mentioned in passing, but now
  20. see as a really useful idea) is "download everything from this BB folder that
  21. has been posted since I last accessed it".

  23. Bell/Whistle #1: allow me to preselect a bunch of BB folders (from my
  24. "Personal" menu) and then tell my computer to dial up and perform the above
  25. operation at a specified time (as you currently can for mail).

  27. Bell/Whistle #2: the mainframe could compact the relevant memos on the fly
  28. (into an AppleLink Package, maybe) prior to downloading them to me.

  30. Observation: this feature would allow us to convert MacApp.Tech$ to a BB with
  31. no loss of current functionality, and eliminate the present need for one hardy
  32. soul to create weekly archives.
